State health minister Suresh Shetty on Friday said that the government had issued 15 days notice to 227 doctors, who have not been reporting for duty for over a year.
“These doctors have not been reporting for duty for a long time without information,” Shetty told TOI on Friday. “Some of them have not reported for over a year. We published their names and their current place of work in a few newspapers and asked them to report to us immediately. Barring a few doctors, most didn’t respond. They will be sacked if they fail to report to us within the notice period,” Shetty said.
